Set up Video Watch Live
Setup happens once, on your iPhone. Connect your Ring account there and your Apple Watch signs itself in. You need an iPhone with iOS 17 or later, an Apple Watch with watchOS 10 or later, and a Ring account.
Install the app on your iPhone.
Get Video Watch Live on the App Store. The watch app installs alongside it. If it doesn’t appear on your watch, open the Watch app on your iPhone and install it from Available Apps.
Tap Connect Ring Account.
Ring’s page opens inside the app. If you’re already signed in to ring.com, it carries over. Follow Ring’s steps to add Video Watch Live and choose your cameras. The app shows Connecting your account… and finishes on its own.
You don’t need a pairing code for this. The code behind Show Pairing Code is only for when you added Video Watch Live in Ring on a computer or another device: type it (like ABCD-1234) into the Video Watch Live page that opened there. Connecting Ring failed covers the error messages.
You’ll see You’re connected.
Tap See My Cameras to go to your camera grid. From there, tap any camera to watch it live.
Open the app on your Apple Watch.
The watch picks up the connection from your iPhone the first time you open it, with nothing to type. After that it works on its own over Wi-Fi or cellular.
Want alerts? Turn on Motion & Doorbell Alerts in the iPhone app’s Settings. Motion & doorbell alerts explains what you get.
Video Watch Live is iPhone-only, so it isn’t available for iPad. The subscription is set up in Ring’s App Store while you connect. Subscription & pricing has the details.
Still stuck? Tell us which camera and what you’re seeing. We usually reply within a day.
